We're Going Downtown to Ruth's Chris
We are going downtown! According to Urban Dictionary Thursday Night Drinking Club is the weekly get-together of rowdy miscreants in cities around the globe. Usually involving copious amounts of alcohol and public events, Thursday Night Drinking Club's can often include PDA, unidentified brusies (found the next day) and "FAWC" Fridays (Friday Afternoon Working from Cafes, a necessity due to the hangover caused by ThNDC.) Used in a sentence: "For this week's Thursday Night Drinking Club, we're going to crash the Google boat cruise since they TOTALLY have free wine & food." While we only have events once a month, this is a pretty funny definition....
This month's event will be at Ruth's Chris Downtown on the St. Johns River. With your $5 donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Northeast Florida, receive a free drink, happy hour pricing on beer, martinis and more as well as a bar bite menu.

Show Your Teal Pre-Party at City Hall Pub
Support your home town team, as we do a little tailgating of our own at City Hall Pub before the Jacksonville Jaguars play the Indianapolis Colts on December 17th. Pre-Party is from 5:30-7:30 at City Hall Pub adjacent to where the Jags will dominate. Your $5 donation to benefit Cystic Fibrosis will get you a free draft beer or well cocktail. We will have live music out on the deck.

An Event so Great, Somone Should Make an iPhone Application for It
Some might call it the “I had so much fun I called in sick on Friday” application or the “I got so many phone numbers my fingers hurt” application or the “These are the best days of my life” application. Whatever you want to call it, Thursday September 24th at The Capital Grille is an event not to be missed.
With a $5 donation to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville, you will receive a free glass of wine or beer. In addition, you will enjoy the sounds of our favorite Ron Rodriguez. Forbes is Wrong at TacoLu in Jacksonville Beach
On Thursday September 25th, young professionals of Jacksonville gathered at TacoLu in Jacksonville Beach for Thursday Night Drinking Club's monthly meeting benefiting JCCI Forward's community programming. People enjoyed $2 margaritas and $1 draft beer. This event was held to prove to Forbes that they are wrong- Jacksonville is a GREAT place to be single and be out and ready to mingle.

Park(ing) Day
On Friday September 19th, Jacksonville Scene and Thursday Night Drinking Club participated in the Trust for Public Land "Park(ing) Day". In 90 cities across the country people set up temporary parks in parallel parking spots to promote parks in downtown areas. We had tons of people stop by and enjoy our park during their lunch break, smoke break or just to get out of work a little early. Special thanks to A1 Sod for providing the grassy area for us to walk around barefoot in all day and to Gecko Gardens for masterfully creating our private city oasis.
